(If you read this, the website is back online!)
And with it a new board, excited to finally get started.
On June 20, 2026, our General Meeting took place and we, the new board, would like to introduce ourselves today, explain what drives us, and give you an outlook on what comes next.
It has been a long road to get here, and we are glad that we can now continue it together with you..

What connects us as a board is the wish to make the EWA what it was always meant to be: an association that is there for its members, works transparently, and makes decisions together.
An association where participation is not just a buzzword, but lived practice.
Where we stand
We want to be honest with you: we have found quite a lot that needs to be addressed. In various areas of the association, structures are missing that we are now building, and decisions were made in the past without sufficiently involving the members. That was not ideal, but it is the starting point from which we begin.
We are not saying this to dwell on the past or to assign blame. We are saying it because you have a right to know where your association stands, and because we are convinced that an association only works when everyone knows what is happening.
What’s important to us
The EWA has always had the ambition to promote ethical breeding and responsible ownership of wolfdogs and wolfalikes. That is an ambition we want to live up to, and we want to do it together with you.
Participation means concretely:
Decisions are not made behind closed doors.
Topics are prepared and shared in advance, so that you have the opportunity to read up, exchange views, and form an informed opinion before any vote takes place.
The breeding committee, which should play an important role as a supervisory body, will be reinstated with a clear mandate and genuine independence.
The breeding regulations and the ethical guidelines will be revised together with you.
A community lives through its members. We want you to feel that.
Milestone: Papers for the first ever EWA litter
As one of our first acts in office, we were lucky enough to experience a truly wonderful moment: we sent out the papers for the first litter officially bred under the EWA. That feels like a real beginning, and we are proud of it.
To all puppy buyers: as the buyer of a puppy bred under the EWA, you receive one year of basic membership free of charge. Simply provide the registration number of your puppy when signing up and we will match it and activate the membership.

What comes next
The next few weeks are packed. First up are the formal and legal matters: registration of the new board with the association register and establishing a proper financial structure. Both are the foundation for putting the association on solid structural and organisational footing.
In the medium term, a further General Meeting is planned at which we intend to adopt a revised set of bylaws, among other things. Bylaws that protect the association, strengthen the members, and form the basis for a long-term healthy association structure. We will prepare the topics in advance and make them available to you so that you can go into the vote fully informed.
We have many ideas for how to involve you as members more actively and offer real added value. We can hardly wait to put these into practice with you. Please understand that we first need to take care of the organisational foundations before we can really hit our stride.
But we are starting, and we are starting now.
